DAY 003 / OCTOBER 1, 2026
PENDENNIS.
REAL PROJECTS.
Day 003 looks at Pendennis in Falmouth through several yacht refit projects. The published case studies show different combinations of structural work, engineering, paint, interior changes and specialist finishing.
PROJECTS REFERENCED
Gin-Tonic
Pendennis’ published update describes a major transformation in Falmouth: a new 4-metre stern extension, bridge-deck alterations and preparation for new engines. The structural changes are designed to add guest space and refine the yacht’s profile.

The 2007–08 refit included a full repaint, a redesigned sun deck, replacement decking on two decks, a reconfigured owner’s suite and refreshed guest and crew spaces. Engineering works included servicing or renewing key propulsion and engine-room equipment.

A 12-month refit refreshed all five deck levels. Interior areas were stripped back for redesign; social spaces, lighting and technical systems were modernised, alongside changes to the owner’s suite, a private deck, a cinema and major AV, IT and HVAC upgrades.

Adix’s extensive refit programme combined engineering and exterior work: new generators and a main engine, reconfigured ballast, a redesigned deckhouse, paintwork and lighter carbon-and-titanium rigging.

These examples show how different a refit can be from one yacht to the next. Structural modifications, engineering, paint, interiors and detailed finishing all need to come together through skilled trades and coordinated project teams. That standard of capability is part of what ZERO TO YARD is studying as we work toward a future service yard.
The project descriptions above come from Pendennis’ public case studies and updates. They are independent reference examples, not ZERO TO YARD projects.
